A state investigation into a fire that destroyed an athletic field house at Licking Valley High School is now closed.

Investigators found no evidence of criminal activity in last Friday's fire.

The State Fire Marshal's Office said the fire started in the attic of the field house, but investigators could not determine an exact cause.

The fire also destroyed equipment that was kept in the building.

The athletic field house caught fire shortly before 11 p.m. on March 15, and more than 20 fire units responded to the scene.

The fire was contained around 12:30 a.m. Saturday, and no one was inside the building or injured as a result of the incident.

No one was inside at the time and no one was.
