The superintendent of Bexley City Schools said a substitute teacher was removed from the job Tuesday pending a police investigation involving a student.
Bexley police said they were called to the high school Tuesday to investigate communication between a substitute teacher and a student.
Bexley Police Detective Byrd said he is looking into the language of the conversation that was had through a telecommunication device.
Police will determine if any of the communication was criminal in nature.
The substitute teacher has not been charged. The substitute teacher is no longer working within the school district pending the outcome of the police investigation.
