A Fairfield County doctor was found guilty on Monday of failing to report child abuse.
According to the Fairfield County Prosecutor’s Office, Dr. Anthony Zucco was found guilty after a two-day trial for failing to report known or suspected child abuse.
The prosecutor said that Zucco, who was a doctor at the Premier Urgent Care in Lancaster, saw a minor girl who said that she had been sexually assaulted by a family member.
According to the prosecutor’s office, Zucco failed to perform a medical exam and told the victim that by reporting it, her name would be printed in a newspaper.
The girl’s family reported the sexual assault.
