Police arrested a woman on Saturday who was accused of hitting her child with a wooden spoon.
Makayla Horn, 28, of Marion, was charged with a felony count of child endangering.
Two officers who investigated the report in the 500 block of N. State Street described the assault as severe. A four year old was taken to Nationwide Children's Hospital.
Police indicated the injuries were not life threatening.
Horn was arrested and taken to the Multi-County Correctional Center to await arraignment.
