A man accused of raping a Newark High School student will be tried once for two separate rape charges, The Newark Advocate reported on Friday.
The trial for Zakery A. Neldon, 23, is slated to start in May.
Neldon is accused of raping a 15-year-old girl while she was walking to Newark High School in October.
Newark police told 10TV News that Neldon’s arrest prompted another alleged victim to come forward.
Authorities said that a 44-year-old woman said that Neldon raped her in July.
Neldon was indicted on two counts of rape, one count of kidnapping and one count of robbery in connection with the alleged October rape. He also was indicted on one count of kidnapping an one count of attempted rape for the alleged July incident.
A judge ruled this week that the two cases could be tried together, the Advocate reported.
