The Columbus Metropolitan Library voted on Thursday to sell the former Ohio School for the Deaf building.
The board plans to sell the East Town Street building to a private Catholic school, the Cristo Rey Columbus High School, which hopes to move in next year.
The site has been sitting empty for about six years. The library bought the site in February from Pennsylvania-based Campus Apartments for $2.6 million with original plans to renovate it.
The library will still own the land around the building and plans to use it as green space.
