Whitehall Wants To Curb Shopping Cart Theft

Tuesday March 12, 2013 10:51 PM

An ordinance was proposed in Whitehall to help crack down on unlawful possession of shopping carts.

The legislation was introduced by service director Ray Ogden and would make it a minor misdemeanor for anyone to unlawfully possess a shopping cart.

The ordinance would also establish a series of requirements for retail stores that have shopping carts.

The ordinance is scheduled for a final reading at the March 19 meeting of Whitehall City Council.
