A garbage truck driver was freed from a vehicle covered by live electrical wires east of Downtown Tuesday morning.

Emergency crews responded to the scene in the 1500 block of East Long Street around 11 a.m.

East Long Street was closed in the area while crews worked to free the man. Power had to be turned off so the man could safely exit the vehicle.
