Police Take Alleged Bank Robber Into Custody After Swarming Apartment Building

Police took an alleged bank robber into custody Tuesday morning after surrounding an east side apartment complex.

According to police, someone robbed the PNC Bank, located at 2385 S. Hamilton Road, shortly after 10 a.m.

A medic was called to the bank after the robbery for unknown reasons.

Police said they followed a possible suspect to an apartment complex near Livingston and Burlington avenues.

The person was taken into custody at about 11 a.m.

The name of the person was not immediately released.
