An Ohio father whose newborn infant was found stashed in an apartment freezer has pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter and other charges connected to the baby's death.

A court official confirmed Monday that Antonio Cervantes, of Toledo, also entered guilty pleas to charges of tampering with evidence, child endangering and abuse of a corpse. A message was left with his attorney.

A landlord found the baby boy's body last April while cleaning out a rental property in Toledo. The coroner said the newborn boy had been strangled and dunked in water. The child lived no more than two days.

The baby's mother, Kenisha Pruitt, was sentenced to life in prison for killing the child. She will be eligible for parole after 20 years.

Cervantes' sentencing is scheduled for April 23.
