Police in Lancaster are searching for a man after allegations of stalking.

Two women were shopping together last Thursday at the River Valley Mall when they said they noticed a man in a hoodie stalking them.

“She’s scared to death to come outside at night or anything because of him,” said the victim’s friend, Joseph Snyder.

The women said the man followed them everywhere they went, including into a Victoria’s Secret store. Snyder said his friends finally ran out of the Sears store and into the parking lot to drive away.

The two women headed to one of their homes on Garfield Avenue in Lancaster, which is a about a half mile away from the mall. That’s when they said the man showed up again, right in front of the house.

“The girls were standing at this red chair doing their hair, so he was close to them,” said Snyder.

The women ran inside of the house, and Snyder stood his ground.

"When I confronted him the first time, he said he wanted to talk to them, and I told him ‘What do you need to talk to them about? They don't know you.’ And he said I didn't need to worry about that,” said Snyder.

Snyder says the guy walked around the neighborhood and circled the house four or five times that day. And, Snyder says he has returned a half dozen times since last week.

“He’ll stop right there on the sidewalk and stare at the house, waiting for the girls to come out,” added Snyder.

Snyder said he’s worried about his friends, and police have been notified. Snyder says he has noticed police have stepped up patrols in the neighborhood since the initial incident last Thursday.
