Ohio State Tops Illinois, Falls Short Of Share For Big 10 Crown

UPDATED: Sunday March 10, 2013 10:31 PM

It was senior day for the Ohio State Buckeyes, and the team took care of business.

The basketball Buckeyes beat Illinois 68-55.

The team used a 15-4 run to break out in the first half. The team led by nine at halftime.

Aaron Craft finished with 14 points to help OSU to the win.

After the game, Ohio State was forced to root for Michigan to beat Indiana. If the Wolverines would have won, the Buckeyes would be co-champs in the Big 10.

But the Wolverines fell short in Ann Arbor as the Hoosiers won on a layup with 13 seconds left.

It's the first outright Big 10 title in two decades for the Hoosiers. If the Wolverines would have won, Michigan State could have also grabbed part of the crown.

Ohio State earned a bye in the Big Ten tournament with their finish.
