Church Brings In Ex-Porn Star To Deliver Message

UPDATED: Friday March 8, 2013 6:36 PM

Pastor John Hohe is not afraid of bringing up the topic of pornography to make a point in church.

“Jesus told three stories, the big one being the lost son or the prodigal son,” said Hohe. “I'm not aware of any churches in the area that have done that.”

Hohe is bringing in Crissy Moran as a guest speaker. Moran was known in the porn industry as one of the 30 most beautiful actresses of all-time.

“The first one I talked to was my wife to make sure she was cool with it,” explained Hohe.

He also asked his parish.

“Some people have trouble with that word. I'm sensing people are having trouble with that word and not her,” explained Hohe.

The church has been promoting the ex-porn star's visit in the community by putting up a large sign on Powell Rd. as well as passing out pamphlets.

“I hope that draws people in to hear her and receive hope that if they've been away from church or God that there's a way to start over,” said Hohe.

Moran will speak of her life before, during and after working in the porn industry. An online YouTube clip shows Moran’s message.

“I was in the industry for six years and it kind of provided me a false sense of who I was, what love was, and the relationships I was in were not healthy,” said Moran.

In 2006, she said she had enough when she left her $15,000 a month pay check and turned to Christianity.

“Once you get past that initial shock, it makes sense for a church to do this,” said the pastor.

Hohe added that it's the message that's important, for everyone, including for teenagers and their parents.

Moran will be speaking at the church this Sunday. The church asks that children under 12-years-old not attend the evening event.
