Police: Man With Loaded Gun Falls Asleep In Jewelry Store

A man faces charges after police say he fell asleep inside of a Chillicothe mall.

According to The Chillicothe Gazette, police responded to the Kay Jewelers at the Chillicothe Mall on Monday evening after an employee reported that an intoxicated man had fallen asleep on the floor.

The man was identified as 31-year-old Dwayne N. Vance, the paper reported.

When police arrived, Vance was found to have a .38 Deringer in his back pocket. He told police that he forgot about the gun, the Gazette reported.

Vance was charged with carrying a concealed weapon and possessing a weapon while under a disability.
