Marion Police said they have arrested four men who are major drug traffickers in the region even though most of them do not live in the area.

Investigators said that the latest was Herman Crump, who was picked up on Friday night after getting off a bus from Detroit.

“A lot of people we dealt with said, well the reason we came here is because the police department is understaffed, and they don't have the time to mess with it,” said Lt. Chris Adkins, Marion Police.

Adkins said the number of arrests this year is staggering. Last February, there were 17 drug related arrests. This February, there were 42.

Adkins gave 10TV access to the property room at the police department where he displayed the drugs that have been confiscated in 92 cases over the last two months.

“Most of the things that are in here is crack cocaine, heroin and marijuana,” he added.

Adkins said that 5.5 grams of heroin and nearly $2,000 in cash was seized from a Johnson Street home last week.

Adkins said Dejuan Thomas, 25, from Chicago was busted and charges with trafficking.

Police said they are continuing their efforts to make arrests.

"We're coming after you, your day will come just be prepared,” said Adkins.
