A quiet start to the week with sunshine and chilly temperatures. However, rain and snow will spread into the state on Tuesday and continue into Wednesday as a winter storm moves into the Ohio Valley. The storm track is still somewhat uncertain which will determine the precipitation type and the amounts. Right now it appears the heaviest snow will fall across areas north and west of Columbus. Rain will likely mix with the snow across central and southern Ohio, which will cut back on snowfall amounts. If the storm tracks farther south, then the heavier snow will also shift south. This is a tricky one. We will continue to watch it very closely as it approaches. Precipitation should end by Wednesday evening with clearing skies and warmer temperatures on the way to end next week.
ALERTS : SPC has No Risk Areas today. Winter Storm Watch issued for Tuesday afternoon through Wednesday afternoon for areas North & West of Columbus. (Track of this one will make a big difference. Heavy snow expected in some areas. 4-8” estimates).
Inconvenient WX/Plan Your Day: Chilly today. Scrape the car windows early. Mix of rain, sleet and snow tomorrow and Wednesday with heavy snow possible in areas to our north and west and periods where we may see heavy snow here too. A lot depends of the track and the amount of rain or sleet that eats up the available moisture.
