Woman Accused Of Shooting Heroin In Vehicle With 8-Year-Old In Backseat

A woman faced a number of charges in court on Friday in connection with allegedly doing drugs in a car containing a child.

According to court documents, Kara Haldeman, 27, was parked in a lot in the 2000 block of Agler Road on Feb. 27 when she shot heroin into her arm and then passed out.

Court documents stated that an 8-year-old child was in the backseat of the vehicle, which was left running, at the time of the alleged offense.

Haldeman, of Mount Vernon, is charged with two counts of having drug paraphernalia, one count of endangering children and one count of misdemeanor drug abuse. She also faces two counts of felony drug possession and abuse.
