A former regional manager of the tire company Michelin was indicted on one count if theft and one count of tampering with records Friday afternoon.

Antwyan D. Reynolds, 32, allegedly obtained about 500 tires from the Michelin facility in Columbus after falsifying documents, according to a press release from the Franklin County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.

Investigators reported that Reynolds sold or gave away $78,000 of tires.

“This was a trusted employee who abused his position,” said Franklin County Prosecutor Ron O’Brien in the release Friday.

The theft was uncovered after Michelin security officials conducted an internal investigation.

O’Brien said that Reynolds could face up to 12 months behind bars.
