Michelle Edmonds was robbed at her new scrapbook store in the first days it was open.

“We were robbed earlier, and he got all the cash,” said Edmonds. “At first, I thought it was a joke.”

The suspect wiped her clean of cash, her cell phone, and her medication.

“I went out the door, and I yelled ‘My insulin is in my purse. I need my insulin,” said Edmonds.

But the gunman left the same way he got into the store, through a side door next to a nearby alley.

Edmonds said the man parked a getaway car in the alley. She said he lifted his mask before he got into the vehicle. Nearby witnesses had heard Edmonds yell and got a description of the robber.

“He took away my sense of well-being, my sense of safety. He took away the one thing I had left that really made me feel good and that was being in my store, and he took that. Who can give that back to me? Nobody,” added Edmonds.

Authorities have a person of interest in custody who fits the robber’s description.

Edmonds plans to stay open and modify security in the building.
