Chillicothe may increase the permit fees for holding a yard or garage sale.
According to The Chillicothe Gazette, the proposal calls for a $5 fee for the first sale, $10 for a second one, $15 for a third, and $20 for a fourth sale.
Currently, residents are limited to twio sales per year.
City Councilman Dustin Proehl told the Gazette the city wanted to strengthen the rules to deter people from “abusing the system.”
The city received concerns that some sales were continuing for long periods of time.
