Hilliard police briefly evacuated residents after a grenade was found in a garage.
According to police, the grenade, thought to be live, was found in a garage in the 5300 block of Dexter Ave. shortly after 3 p.m.
A resident’s family member found the grenade while cleaning out the house.
Dexter Avenue was briefly closed between Packard and Alder drives for investigation.
Columbus Bomb Squad officials removed the grenade from the home and took it to detonate it.
