Columbus Police Investigating Series Of Vehicle Arsons

Police and fire investigators were looking into three vehicle fires on the city's southwest side on Saturday.

A woman reported her car burning around 2:30 a.m. in the 1000 block of Harrisburg Pike. She said after Franklin Township firefighters arrived, she soon found out other vehicle owners were also victimized.

"When they were putting my car out, they noticed my neighbor. Their car was on fire. They ran over there and put theirs out," the woman said.

10TV News chose not to use the victim's name for her safety.

Authorities discovered a total of three vehicles had been set on fire. In at least two of the cases, bricks were thrown through the windshields first.

The victim who spoke to 10TV News said she installed video cameras on Saturday.

"I just want my neighbors around here to feel safe and be on the lookout," she said.
