Snow, Freezing Rain Expected Overnight Into Friday Morning

UPDATED: Friday February 22, 2013 5:08 AM

Your Doppler 10 Forecast

This Evening:    Partly to mostly cloudy.
Tonight:    Sleet & snow after midnight mixing with and changing to freezing rain towards morning.  Low 24.
Tomorrow:    Freezing rain turning to rain during the morning.  Warmer with a high of 45.
Saturday:    Partly sunny.  High 41.

Special Information:
Sleet and snow will move into Central Ohio around midnight tonight and then change to freezing rain sometime after 2AM.   The latest computer models have this wintry mix moving out of the Columbus area around 9AM Friday with temperatures rising above freezing and melting the ice before noon.   I am calling for an inch of snow and sleet and then a tenth of an inch of ice on top of that.  This will NOT be an ice storm for Central Ohio as the storm fortunately has limited moisture by the time it reaches us.  This mix will make roadways slick so I would allow extra time tomorrow morning and be prepared for school delays.

Alerts :  WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY for ALL of Ohio tonight into tomorrow morning.

Inconvenient Weather:  Snow, sleet and freezing rain will make roads snow and ice covered after midnight tonight.  I expect roads to be very slick with freezing rain falling during Friday morning drive!
