A teenager is charged with murder, accused of killing his mother.

Police responded to a report of a double stabbing shortly before 5 p.m. Wednesday in the 3800 block of Chestnut Ridge Loop in northeast Columbus.

According to Columbus police, 19-year-old Robert Lindsey, a student at New Albany High School, told officers that he got into an argument with his mother, 41-year-old Latonia Banner, and she was stabbed to death.

Lindsey was also stabbed in the leg and was treated for his wounds at Grant Medical Center. He was released and taken to the Franklin County Jail.

Neighbors told 10TV News that the woman who was killed lived quietly in a townhome apartment with her son.

"We don't know them personally, but we've seen them from time to time," Derrick Wilson said.
