President Barack Obama will be the speaker for The Ohio State University's spring commencement ceremony.

According to university officials on Wednesday, Obama will be the third sitting president to deliver OSU's commencement address.

The other presidents were George W. Bush in 2002 and Gerald Ford in 1974.

This year's ceremony is slated for May 5 in Ohio Stadium.

The ceremony will mark Obama's fifth visit to the university in the past 16 months.

"This is a historic occasion for the university, the city of Columbus and our graduates and their families," said OSU President E. Gordon Gee.
