Nearly $5,000 Worth Of Tools Stolen From Van In Westerville

Police are searching for whoever stole thousands of dollars worth of tools from a vehicle in Westerville.

According to police, someone stole about $5,000 worth of tools from a van overnight Thursday.

A utility company was doing underground gas line replacement work in the area of Mossman Avenue and McVay Alley when, according to one of the workers, someone punched out the lock on one of the work vans and stole drills, hand tools, a generators and a gas monitor worth about $2,700.

Police said they currently do not have any people of interest in connection with the theft.
