A mother said her 12-year-old son was nearly struck by a stray bullet.

According to Melissa Owens, her son was in their Marion living room when a bullet pierced through the window.

“And we heard this ‘pop, pop, pop, pop’ and it sounded like a firecracker went off in here,” Owens said.

Owens said her son was not hurt, but she worries that the people who pulled the trigger have no idea about the damage they could have done.

“It scared me to death,” Owens said. “They didn’t even care. They didn’t even think about that. There are families on this street.”

Police said the shooting could be connected to two other drive-by shootings in recent days.
