Crooks Steal Thousands In Cigarettes From 2 Businesses

Marlene Pyles had to clean up her store for the second time in six months. Crooks broke in this week and took cigarettes off the shelves of the SF& M Tobacco-N-More on Oakland Park Ave.

“We really do know just about everybody who walks through the door. It’s disheartening to know that somebody out there wanted to come in and take what we had,” said Pyles.

Less than five miles away, Tedd Ross showed up Monday morning at Natalia’s Carryout on Summit St. to find a hole cut through the wall.

Surveillance video captured a crook with a bag that headed straight for the cigarettes in the store. It took several minutes for the suspect to clear the shelves as another person acted as look-out.

One of the crooks came back to the store 30 minutes later and took a television, according to the security footage.

Ross hopes the images will help police find the crook.

“This is my life here. I work hard to do anything for my family,” said Ross.

Ross and Pyles both lost thousands of dollars in just one night. They are hoping someone can provide information to help solve the crimes.
