Police shut down the bike path near Dodridge Street on Monday morning because of a possible suspicious object.

According to police, officers found a wrapped package on the bike path near the Olentangy River.

The Columbus Bomb Squad detonated the package shortly after noon.

Investigators told 10TV that when the package was destroyed, they could not salvage enough evidence to determine what it was.

The Dodridge Street bridge that goes over the Olentangy River was blocked during the investigation.

Investigators said the object was not a geocach treasure that had been left along the path.
