The Ohio State Highway Patrol indicated on Saturday that a tracter trailer triggered a multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 70.

At least 18 vehicles were involved in the accident at 3:55 p.m. on eastbound I-70 near State Route 37.

Several people were taken to area hospitals with injuries troopers said were not life threatening.

Investigators said a New York man driving a tractor trailer crashed into a car he did not see while changing lanes during a period of heavy snowfall. That crash led to several others.

Eastbound lanes of the highway remained closed for three hours while troopers investigated the crashes and tow trucks cleared the scene.
