A man called 911 Friday morning after a bullet came into his residence and grazed him while he slept.
Chris Gibson, 25, lives on Post Oak Court just south of Clime Road in southwest Columbus.
Authorities reported that Gibson was grazed in the head by the bullet just after 9 a.m. Friday.
Police believe the shooting was random and that the stray bullet went through a wall adjacent to the victim's bed.
“It’s a real small hole,” said Gibson’s mother, Zoe Gibson-Webb. “I don’t know what kind of gun it could have been, but oh my God!”
The mother said she could not believe a bullet came into her home and struck her son.
"Grazed him bad enough to where the blood was just gushing out of the top of his head. I don't know how deep the bullet grazed him, but there was just blood all over his face and it just wouldn't stop for I don't know, a full hour. It just kept bleeding and bleeding," said the victim's mother.
The man was taken to Mount Carmel West Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Gibson-Webb said that she occasionally hears gun shots in the apartment complex and is thinking about moving out.
“You just have to move where you feel safe, and I don’t feel safe here anymore,” Gibson-Webb said.
