Man Accused Of Groping 2 Women At Franklin County Courthouse

A man is accused of groping two women at a place for those seeking justice for crimes – not to become victims of them.

Two women, who are employees of the Franklin County Courthouse, have accused a food vendor at the building of inappropriately touching them.

One woman said that 51-year-old Navinchandra Patel grabbed her breast. The other woman said that he grabbed her crotch.

Patel is charged with two counts of sexual imposition.

The alleged incidents occurred at a small market store on the ninth floor of the municipal courthouse.

One woman, who spoke with 10TV News, said she was a frequent customer of the store and shocked about the accusations.

“Well, I never had a problem with him,” said customer Chrystal James. “I thought he was a very nice guy. I mean, it’s awful that it would happen here in your workplace, but I never had a problem with him.”

James said she had not seen Patel in an number of weeks and learned of the allegations from 10TV.

“I think that’s terrible. You shouldn’t be subject to that, especially in a place of business,” James said.

Neither of the women, who have accused the man, returned 10TV News’ request for comment.
