2 Traffic Stops Yield More Than $37,000 Worth Of Drugs

Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers arrested four people for allegedly possessing drugs during two separate incidents on Tuesday.

According to the OSP, troopers stopped a driver for speed and lane violations along U.S. Route 23 south near mile marker 5 in Scioto County at about 8 p.m.

Troopers said a passenger in the backseat grabbed an object and hid it under his coat.

A sweep of the vehicle uncovered 1,004 Oxyodone pills worth about $24,000.

Steven T. Washington, 25, and Dennis G. Hurd, 56, and William D. Whitfield, 28, were jailed and charged with possession of a schedule II substance.

At 9:15 p.m., troopers stopped a vehicle with Michigan plates along U.S. 23 near milepost 10, also in Scioto County.

A woman was found hiding two ounces of cocaine and two ounces of heroin, worth about $13,000.

James D. Crocker, 33, Dicey D. Deselle, 21, of Detroit, Mich., were charged with two counts of possession of drugs.
