When John O’Connor returned to his vehicle after visiting a Panera on Lane Avenue, he noticed shattered glass in the seat next to him. He said his laptop was gone.

Cicily Murray had hundreds of textbooks stolen from her father’s car which was parked in the same lot as O’Connor’s.

"I was really confused at first. I don't know, I just couldn't imagine why someone would do that in the middle of the day,” said Murray.

After a string of break-ins, police set up video surveillance.

Two suspects were arrested after police said they were caught by the cameras breaking into cars.

Joseph Street and Matthew Bossert were charged.

Bossert was behind bars last month for the same crime. Grandview Police said they found him with backpacks of stolen merchandise taken from vehicles.

He posted bond and was out of jail 11 days later. Now, he’s charged again.

“Good, I'm glad it's not going to happen to anyone else,” said O’Connor.

Bossert’s attorney had no comment on the case.
