Prison Officer Suspended After Inmate Allegedly Raped

A corrections officer is suspended while the Ohio State Highway Patrol investigates allegations that she locked a handcuffed prisoner up with another inmate who raped and beat him.

According to The Columbus Dispatch, Theresa L. Daniel, 60, was placed on administrative leave last month for allegedly failing to follow prison policies and procedures.

The Dispatch reported that the state said that they would not release the names of the two inmates involved.

The alleged incident occurred at the Allen Oakwood Correctional Institution in Lima.

Ohio State Highway Patrol officials confirmed for The Dispatch that the OSP was investigating the alleged incident.
