Teen Hospitalized In Critical Condition After Southeast Columbus Shooting

A 19-year-old man was shot in southeast Columbus on Monday afternoon.

According to police, a man was found shot in the 700 block of Champion Avenue at about 4:15 pm.

Police said that they believed he was shot along Oakwood and Livingston avenues and stumbled to South Champion Avenue.

The unidentified man was taken to Grant Medical Center in critical condition.

“I heard six to eight shots and then I saw a kid over there,” a witness said. The kid got up and ran down the alley and another guy joined him and said I’ve been hit twice.”

Police said that no one was in custody in connection with the shooting.

The shooting remained under investigation.  Assault squad officials were on scene.
