Thieves did thousands of dollars in damage during a car break-in in southwest Columbus and left behind some strange evidence.
Kelsey Schirtizinger found the rear passenger window shattered in her vehicle after it was parked on North Terrace Avenue.
Crooks took several items from the SUV, including a flat screen from the dash.
But Schirtzinger said she also found pictures that the thieves left behind. The photos featured a partially-clothed female.
“It was of a young lady in her bra and panties,” said Schirtzinger.
She said it’s not the first time she’s been the victim, but crooks leaving something behind was a first. She also found a screwdriver and there was blood on the seat.
Along with the screen, the thieves took two large speakers and an amplifier.
“It's bad enough you feel violated when your own stuff is taken. I've only had the car for a month, so for that to happen, it's hard enough. I bust my butt, working overtime,” said Schirtzinger.
She filed a report with police and hopes the fingerprints, blood samples, and pictures collected by the crime scene analyst will help crack the case.
Schirtzinger said she is not going to be parking her SUV on that street much longer.
She just hopes detectives find the criminal before other neighbors become new targets.
