10 Investigates has learned that an emergency room doctor who worked in Knox County will likely face charges involving the death of Deanna Ballman.
Ballman, who was nine-months-pregnant, was found dead of heroin intoxication in her car last summer near Westerville.
10 Investigates later revealed that she had worked as a model for the doctor who lived in a nearby New Albany home. Sources tell 10TV that the two connected on Craigslist.
That relationship led investigators to suspect the doctor is criminally linked to Ballman’s death.
He refused to comment when 10TV went to his door on Friday.
While the doctor had nothing to say, sources close to the case are talking.
They told 10 Investigates they expect charges to be filed.
One source who knows the case well said the charges will be "significant."
Delaware County Prosecutor Carol O'Brien said her office is waiting for lab results on forensic evidence before she decides what charges to file.
But nobody there can say for sure when those results will be ready, and we might finally learn what really happened to Ballman.
Ballman’s family just lost another family member this week to a tragedy, and said they are too grief stricken to go on camera at this time.
