Police said that a body was discovered in a Dumpster in the northeast part of Columbus Friday afternoon around 2 p.m.

Homicide detectives were called to the scene on Sierra Ridge and Ponderosa Drives at the Greenhill Village Apartments.

"There's no outward signs of trauma. No blood, no bullet holes, nothing that we can see right at the moment," said Sgt. Steven Little.

Authorities said the body was wrapped in a blanket.

"It's very uncomfortable. It's very disturbing, especially because my boyfriend has a three-year-old daughter that lives here. She's here all the time. We're always outside playing," said Chayla Pleasant, apartment resident.

Just after 5 p.m., police removed the Dumpster with the body still inside.

The Dumpster will be taken to the evidence hall, where the body will be moved to the coroner's office.
