A southwestern Ohio police officer accused of conspiring to smuggle marijuana across the country is set to change his plea to guilty in federal court Thursday.
Bryon Roos had pleaded not guilty in August to charges of money laundering, illegally structuring financial transactions, and conspiring to bring hundreds of pounds of marijuana to southern Ohio from Texas.
The 43-year-old was charged with 10 other men in the case. A number of them have agreed to plead guilty to some charges while others were dropped.
Roos is a veteran officer in the Cincinnati suburb of North College Hill.
North College Hill police have described Roos as a decorated officer who received a medal of valor for rescuing a woman from a burning home in 2011.
