Police Release Name Of Man Allegedly Killed By 14-Year-Old

Police released the name of the 64-year-old man who was shot and killed on Monday evening.

According to Columbus police, Anthony Hines was shot and killed at an apartment in the 3900 block of Elaine Place South at about 6 p.m.

Police said that a 14-year-old, who 10TV News did not immediately name because he is a minor, was charged with murder, aggravated robbery and tampering with evidence in connection with Hines' death.

According to juvenile court records, the teen had been sought by authorities since cutting off a GPS monitoring bracelet last week.

He has been in trouble before for chronic truancy and was placed on electronic monitoring after failing to pull over for officers and fleeing police on Jan. 20, records stated.
