A man convicted of aggravated murder and other offenses in connection with his daughter-in-law’s murder was sentenced to life in prison without parole on Tuesday.
A jury in Chillicothe convicted William Inman, 48, who was held after the March 2011 killing of 25-year-old Summer Inman.
Deliberation lasted approximately two hours before the jury read its verdict.
The trial was moved to Chillicothe after unsuccessful attempts to seat a jury in Hocking County.
Inman's wife and son were convicted last year in the killing.
Authorities said Summer Inman was abducted in Logan, was strangled with a zip tie and was dumped in an underground septic tank behind a church in Athens County.
She had filed for divorce from William Inman's son and was seeking custody of the couple's three small children.
William Inman denied killing her.
Summer's mother, Debbie Cook, said that the sentence was what she was hoping for.
"We were hoping for life in prison with no chance of parole," Cook said.
