UPDATED: Tuesday February 5, 2013 2:54 PM

Westerville police warned residents on Tuesday about a home break-in.

According to Westerville police, a resident in the 600 block of Old Coach Road returned home at about 10:24 a.m. on Tuesday and immediately called police.

Officers said that they believed a person driving a red, older pick-up truck parked in the driveway, walked to the rear of the residence, cut the screen door to the covered porch and unlocked the porch door.

The person entered the home by breaking the glass to the rear door and crawling through the damaged window pane, Westerville police said.

A laptop, digital camera and personal check were taken from the home.

The person left the home by opening the garage door and closing it behind him or her.

Neighbors reported seeing the red vehicle parked in the driveway at about 7:20 a.m.

Anyone with information about the crime is asked to call Westerville police at 614-882-7444.
