A man at the center of the Columbus City Schools ongoing data scrubbing scandal has turned in his resignation.
Steve Tankovich resigned effective March 15 at 5 p.m., according to a copy of the resignation letter obtained by 10TV News.
The Columbus Dispatch reported that multiple current and former district employees have pointed to Tankovich as the mastermind behind the data scrubbing scandal.
Ohio Auditor Dave Yost launched an investigation into state student data reporting problems late last year. Yost found data scrubbing present in the Columbus City School district.
Yost is not yet done with his investigation.
The Dispatch reported that the Columbus City Schools Board of Education was expected to vote and accept the resignation Tuesday night.
Tankovich was not immediately available for comment.
