A horse is recovering after being rescued from two abusive homes.

Danny, the son of an Anheuser Busch Clydesdale, was rescued by the Ohio Society for the Prevention of Cruelty To Animals.

Officials said that Danny was abused and starved when they found him at an Ohio farm. He was 500 pounds under weight, his skin was infected and he was starving to death.

“Danny didn’t make the big time,” said Teresa Landon, the director of the Ohio SPCA. “He didn’t make the Budweiser team. But he was in the Kentucky Derby parade. But we think he’s made the big time now, because he is safe.”

Danny now lives at an Ohio SPCA farm sanctuary, where he will stay for the rest of his life.
