An armed robber has struck at least six times in Lancaster during the past month.
Police said that includes hitting the Circle K on E. Main St. twice.
Authorities are warning businesses in the city to be on alert for the masked man who is targeting the stores.
Lindsey Smith is five months pregnant and was working alone when she heard someone come to the front door. She was just about to close for the night.
“I was actually on the phone with my dad, and he put his hand up for me to be quiet, and I told my dad to hang on, set the phone down. And then he pointed at me, with the gun, to the register,” said Smith.
Smith said the entire time the masked man was inside the store, he never spoke a word. He was motioning his orders with a black handgun pointed directly at her.
“Yeah, actually that was one of the first things I said is, I said ‘I'm pregnant, please don't hurt me,’ and that's when he pointed to the register. And then when I gave him the money, I said, ‘I'm sorry this is all I have,’” said Smith.
Pulp Reality is a small, second-hand music and video store. Police said it, and all the other businesses targeted by the suspect, were easily accessed from the street and open at night.
“Maybe they only have one person working at the business, they don't have a lot of customers in and out of the businesses,” said Sgt. William Tolly, Lancaster Police,
Lancaster Police are also urging small business owners to install or upgrade their surveillance systems, as they appear to be easy targets.
"We would ask for our businesses and our community members to be vigilant, it is something that is becoming somewhat alarming to us,” added Tolly.
At Pulp Reality, Lindsey Smith said she no longer works alone, night or day.
