7 Olentangy Schools Temporarily Locked Down As Officials Searched For Burglary Suspect

The Delaware County Sheriff's Office activated its reverse 911 system to notify residents about a man believed to have been involved in a burglary on Wednesday.

Seven Olentangy Local Schools were placed on precautionary lockdown because of the search at about 1 p.m. The lockdown was lifted shortly before 1:30 p.m.

The following schools were affected:

Olentangy Orange HS & MS
Freedom Trail MS
Oak Creek Elem
Glenn Oak Elem
Walnut Creek Elem
Alum Creek Elem

According to the sheriff's office, Orange Township residents were notified at about 12:30 p.m. about a man who on the run who may have been involved in a burglary at a home on Omaha Drive.

Authorities canceled the search at about 1:15 p.m. after they said they believed they had two people connected to the burglary in custody.
