A gas station was evacuated Tuesday morning because of a possible suspicious package.

Bomb squad officials who were called to the Speedway gas station, located at 1190 N. Court St., determined that the package was actually a backgammon set.

The business was evacuated shortly before 9 a.m.

The case was set next to a gas pump, which prompted concern.

Officials were able to trace the owner of the set, because he used a credit card to pay for gas. His wife identified the set and told officials that her husband was supposed to discard the game.
