UPDATED: Monday January 28, 2013 8:35 AM

Police are investigating after three drive-thrus in Marion were robbed over the weekend.

The Marion Police Department received a 911 call on Sunday shortly after 7 p.m. describing an attempted robbery at the Five O Drive Thru, located on Mt. Vernon Avenue. It was the third similar incident reported in three days.

The witness reported that a white, 5 foot 5 inches to 5 foot 7 inches man wearing dark clothing entered the business armed and demanded money from the register. The employee fled to safety and contacted the police, according to a statement issued by the Marion Police Department.

While there are similarities in all documented cases a link between them has not been established, according to the Marion Police Department.
