The Delaware City Schools Board of Education plans to join with city council Monday night to host an annual meeting. One of the topics will be school safety.

The district is planning to renovate and add on to existing school buildings, and administrators are talking about redesigning building entrances to increase safety.

The district’s superintendent said he also would like to bring in more armed police officers.

The Big Walnut Local School District also is focusing on school security.

The district recently installed special phones that allow communication with the main office and take photos of people trying to get in through locked main doors.
